Best time to do Poon hill trek

The best time to trek to Poon Hill in Nepal is generally during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. During these times, the weather is usually clear with stable conditions, making for excellent trekking conditions and stunning views of the Himalayas. Spring brings blooming rhododendrons and lush vegetation, while autumn offers crisp, clear skies and mild temperatures. However, be prepared for crowds during these peak seasons, especially in autumn. Trekking during the monsoon season (June to August) is not recommended due to heavy rainfall and slippery trails, while winter (December to February) can bring cold temperatures and occasional snowfall, making trekking more challenging.

    Humble, efficient, flexible, knowledgeable

    Rating:

Destination Unlimited was a God send when we were anxious about finding the right agent, given all the stories we heard about dubious agents in Nepal. Ashok was super responsive in helping us plan the trip, highly flexible as our plans evolved, including last minute changes they required us to change the trek.  His staff including both the guides (Ganga and Ambhir) and the porters were extremely helpful and took care of us all along. This is very important in Nepal when you are on a trek because the hotels have an interesting model where your guide essentially serves you during lunch or dinner, or if you need any other help during your stay. We were two families with a kid each - do having two guides was extremely helpful because at least one of them needed support during the trek.  Highly recommend Destination Unlimited.

    Excellent all around

    Rating:

I can't speak highly enough of our experience with Ashok/Destination Unlimited. Ashok was always prompt in his responses and helped us arrange everything from airport transfer (even though my friend and I arrived and departed at different times and dates since we live in different parts of the world!) to paragliding in Pokhara. Ashok goes above and beyond his duty as tour operator and even offered to have his wife help me buy a saree for my friend's wedding. We also loved our trekking guide and porter Hari and Rosan. This was overall an excellent experience and we would love to come back for another trek and will definitely use Destination Unlimited again!
